Mohamed el-Daqrouri, the Secretary of the National Democratic Party's Ethics Committee, Saturday said that the proposed constitutional amendments to articles 62 and 94 aim at reaching a better electoral representation of political parties at the People's Assembly and Shura Council.
Addressing the Parliamentary forum on constitutional amendments held at the National Council for Women, Daqrouri asserted the importance of having women take part actively in political life, pointing out that this required making such amendments.
NDP Youths Secretary-General, Dr. Mohammed Kamal ensured that any allotted seats for women in the parliament will not affect the men seats, but it will be additional ones. This means that parliament seats will be augmented.
Kamal said that the constitutional amendments do not target the removal of any political power in the society out of any political practice. It aims at regulating the relation between religion and policy.
