"Proposed constitutional amendments by the President will allow reform of the election systems,"said Mrs Mubarak in addressing the annual meeting of Inner Wheel Club in Cairo .

She added that the amendments will grant women a larger role in parliamentary representation.

Discussions are under way on appointing women as judges, she said, adding this was part of efforts to grant women equal citizenship rights.
