At a workshop in Sharm el-Sheikh: Youths of parties claim the continuity of the judicial supervision on elections
Youths of political parties claimed the permanence of the full judicial supervision on the next electoral process of the People's Assembly, Shura Council and the local administration units. This would be lined in preparing the electoral schedules, approving the candidates' applications, vote balloting, counting then announcing the final results.
Youths also asked for the continuity of the role by the Court of Appeal to judge the true membership and its commitment, as well as keeping Article 88 of the constitution untouched, besides the possibility to hold the elections inside electoral complexes to resolve the problem of the few number of supervising judges.
Youths of the NDP, al-Wafd, al-Tagamou, Nasserie and al-Ghad Parties, during the first workshop to tackle the role by youths of political parties in the political amendments, called for performing an independent committee to back the role of judiciary in managing the electoral process.
More to the point, giving organizations of the civil societies and human rights a hand in a serious national watchdog to the elections in order to preserve rules of transparency, objectivity and trust of citizens. Youths also requested the presence of a new electoral system replacing the existing individual one to warrant more political participation and representation by women, Christians and youths.
Essam Sheiha, member of the Supreme Body of Al-Wafd Party elucidated the necessity for the parliament members to make certain understandable formulation for the articles of the Third Chapter of Freedoms.
