Speaker of the People's Assembly Fathi Sorour said the principle of citizenship does not contradict with the Islamic Shar'ia the later being the main source of legislation that expresses identity of the legal system without prejudice to interaction with all legal systems worldwide.

The Speaker told Al-Ahram that the Assembly will hold four sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the report drawn up by the General Committee on the constitutional amendments. The Legislative Affairs Committee will present its report to the Assembly for debate and vote.
