Egypt's High Election Commission decided on Thursday 22/03/2007 to review regulations of the ballot in Monday's referendum on constitutional amendments.

The commission, under Justice Minister Mamdouh Mar'ae, also decided to name the heads of the public committees and provide sufficient numbers of judicial officials to help guarantee a smooth balloting.

The commission stressed keenness that the referendum would be conducted in an atmosphere of freedom and democracy.

It called on all Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to apply for getting clearances for their representatives to be present at the voting committees during the balloting.
