Members of parliament, local councils call upon citizens to participate in the referendum

Members of parliament and local councils stressed the necessity of participation of all citizens in the referendum and giving opinions on the Constitution terming the call for boycotting the referendum as negative. They noted that the Egyptian people are aware enough and not to listen to those who work for their personal interests.

The deputies confirmed that the referendum reflects Egypt's interest, support of democratic practice, best participation of parties in the political life, best parliamentary representation of women and prohibition of the establishment of religious parties in addition to confirmation of principle of citizenship.

They clarified that participation in the referendum is equal to the testimony adding that said participation will crown steps of political reform laid down by President Mubarak.
