Egypt entirely rejects the AI statement on constitutional amendments
Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit expressed his complete rejection to the Amnesty International Organization (AI) statement that focused on the proposed constitutional amendments in Egypt, considering it tutelage of the Egyptian people.
Abul-Gheit said that the constitutional amendments will be put to referendum for Egyptians to make their own decision in this regard after constitutional changes are ratified by the People's Assembly.
No foreign parties have the right to criticize, review or comment on the amendments to the Egyptian Constitution, he stressed.
Abul-Gheit made it clear that some organizations issue statements on human rights containing some positive aspects, but defending rights should not be expanded to interference in states' internal affairs.
