People's Assembly Speaker Dr Ahmed Fathi Sorour said amendment of article No. 4 came in line with President Mubarak's request that no certain economic system should be committed to, adding amendment of the article No. 179 asserts that investigations into terror cases should be held under the supervision of the judiciary far from any infringement upon the freedoms articles mentioned in the constitution.

He said this article strikes a balance between personal freedoms and the right of the State to maintain the security of the community.
