Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak: Constitutional amendments roots down women right in parliamentary representation
In her address to the Arab Women Organization, Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak confirmed that appointment of 31 women judges is considered a trust in her competences and a crowning to a long journey of patriotism to prove her capabilities to undertake the office of judgment.
Mrs. Mubarak pointed out efforts exerted by the National Council for Women (NCW) since its foundation to support women political participation by issuing balloting cards, conducting dialogue with political parties to encourage women candidacy in elections and through programs of political awareness in general and female political cadres in particular.
Last of these efforts was the program of "Towards a unique woman parliamentary performance" that targets women parliamentary reinforced competences that cope with the constitutional amendments.
If such constitutional amendments respond to women long-hoped inspirations to join a fair parliamentary representation, we are sure that the present political response and societal conviction will be completed by lawful innovation to allow for necessary mechanisms to materialize.
