The ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) will start an intensive activity next week as Safwat Al-Sharif, the NDP Secretary General will hold a joint meeting of the Youth Professionals, Business Sector and Women's Secretariats to expound on the dimensions of the Constitutional amendments as well as the consensus reached at the Shura Council on such amendments.
Safwat Al-Sharif said that President Hosni Mubarak has fulfilled the promises he made during his electoral campaign and included in his electoral programme.
These promises included his constitutional prerogatives to propose amendments of the Constitution.
President Mubarak committed himself to his promises which became the property of the people, said the ruling NDP Secretary General.
In press statements, Al-Sharif said that we are in this juncture on a historical turning point, where the main issue was not the number of Constitutional articles -34 articles- submitted for amendment, but the main issue was represented in the manner of reflection on the political, economic and social life of the Egyptian people.
