Egypt starts a new era of political performance this year aiming at developing the ruling system in the light of constitution adjustments which the President Mubarak supposed lately.
These adjustments aim at supporting the parliamentary authorities and supervision of the executive authority beside maintaining the balance between both legislative and executive authorities, enhancing the parties role and realizing the judiciary independence , achieving the harmony between articles of the constitution and the developments witnessed by the political ,economic and social life and supporting the citizenship principle.
The suggested constitution's adjustments aim at:
First: realization of the citizenship principle as all people are equal before law as to rights and duties.
Second: Promoting the parliament's role through voting of confidence for the government's program with so that in case of refusal, the government should therein resign. Moreover, the adjustments include granting the Shura Council a legislative role where it should have the right to admit certain issues so that its role will not be, as usual, a consultative one.
Thus, President Mubarak's initiative to make constitutional adjustments paves the way to historic political and economic development in Egypt.
