Yes to anti-terror law, No to emergency law
The emergency law contradicts the requirements of democratic development and Egypt's plan to lure more investments and efforts to merge the Egyptian economy in the world one. Cancellation of the emergency law became a public requirement that must be met to correct Egypt's internal positions, deepen the political reform marsh and improve the foreign image.
Egypt's long and bitter experience with terror represented the main obstacle before cancellation of the emergency law. Now, we are in a dire need of new law combating terrorism to be a legislative alternative, as President Mubarak said in his letter to the People's Assembly and Shura Council, without need to apply the emergency law.
No doubt that President Mubarak's requirement is necessary in order to face danger of terrorism. The main factor to achieve victory in the battle against terror is the public support for the precautionary measures as application of said procedures will encourage people to help the security forces through information helping to reach the truth.
