Reform, as one package
None can deny the major significance of President Mubarak's initiative to the political reform started in 2005 through the competitive elections for the first time in Egypt. Undoubtedly, it was a positive step that opened the door for more constitutional reforms in 2007 to amend 34 articles, including the Article 76 itself for larger participation.
Certainly, these articles will occupy the public opinion's interest in Egypt, particularly the parliament. Tackling these articles will last to the next April, but this must not render us forget, especially the parliament, other economic and social laws in our community, considering them a whole package of reform.
Briefly, discussions of the constitution amendment must not divert us to our economic and social issues. In addition, amending the constitution, laws and other new legislations must be done touchable to show people the fruit of these amendments.
